Notes should decay

Summary
An archive that never forgets becomes a debt. I want notes that fade unless they are touched.
The observation
I have eleven years of notes and I trust the last eighteen months. The rest is sediment I am afraid to delete.
Mechanism
Give every note a half-life. Reading it, linking it, or quoting it resets the clock. Notes past their half-life move to a dim tier — still searchable, never surfaced.
